just when I think I'm starting to understand postmodernism, it's metamodernism already. I'm usually 8 steps behind, now (for this) I'm only one. progress(?).

What's metamodernism? Is it really a thing?
ReplyDeleteI looked it up. I guess I'm a metamodernist. Basically I'm a modernist with the benefit of the findings of postmodernism as a cautionary principle. I can't wait for postmetamodernism! Actually I'll probably just skip over it and go right on to metapostmetamodernism, which is what I've already done several times without knowing it. I'm probably somewhere around metapostmetapostmetapostmetamodernism or metapostmetapostmetapostmetapostmetamodernism now. But who's counting? Counting is so modernist, before we learned that number systems are socially constructed illusions.
